strawberry sweet rolls

Sometimes I want a really good cinnamon roll. Sometimes I have strawberries that need to be eaten, but I don't want o just sit and eat them all myself, though I know I could.
So I had this awesome idea of making strawberry cinnamon rolls.

Just for the record they turned out great.

Memorial Day

So, we decided to try to make Monday a fun day. We didn't have anywhere to be and had the whole day to spend together as a family.

Rob got up and made a yummy breakfast~ homemade donuts, scrambled eggs, sausage bacon, and English muffins. It was delish! Also a special drink that includes orange juice banana, and pineapple. Yum!

After breakfast we decided to take the kids out- to the movies. Why not go during matinee time it would be cheaper and we knew it was going to be like $30 dollars for us to go out. So we decided on RIO, we should the kids the trailer for the movie and they of course got all excited about going. so we went.

Well, not so fast-- While sitting and waiting for the movie to start the bulb burnt out so we had very sad kids but at least we got our refund, $30 is a lot for a movie that you don't get to see.
On the way out to the car we decided we would just go watch a movie at home. We also decided to stop at the grocery store and let the kids pick out a special 3oz. ice cream so they could have a special snack. (we also got lunchables, yogurt, and drinks.) then we came home and watched Little Rascals, which is now like the favorite movie for the kids.

After the movie, we all went outside to play. It was a beautiful day to be outside.
For dinner Rob and I really wanted to go to SouthFork-- It is our most favorite place to go out and eat. We have never been disappointed with them. If you ever come to visit us we are taking you there. And what kids doesn't love to go out and eat? Our love to go, and we really don't go that often. Maybe that is why it is such a big deal.

Because it was Monday we also had a great Family Home Evening. Our family had been spotlighted in Primary on Sunday so we got a FHE bag which was the "Popcorn Olympics" It was so much fun.

Even if we can't go camping like alot of people do during the Memorial weekend we still had lots of fun being together and spending time together.

Now we just have to wait for little Izabelle to get here so we can have even more Family Fun!!

FHE

Our first Family night of the year was celebrated by
  1. trying to get 100 pts together.
  2. Daddy gave the pts when we did something good
  3. cleaned up toys
  4. helped each other
  5. said kind words
  6. eating all our dinner
  7. etc.
After we got the 100 pts mom got out the fun new Tent and Tube.
We all played and took turns crawling through the tube.

Hailey in the tube.

Caleb in the tube.

Chloe in the tube.

Chloe and Hailey having a fun time!

Chloe and Caleb are having a great time too!

We moved all the furniture so we could play in side. I don't think it would have been very much fun out in the rain and the cold and the dark.
While the kids were playing daddy took them one by one and did little interviews with them. They talked about how the last month went, and set some goals to achieve for this month.
We have little interviews with daddy once a month. the kids love it and so do I. It has really helped to make some changes in our home and in ourselves.

She got it!

While doing Chloe's hair this morning she was remembering the song we sang last night for Family Home Evening.

"Love at home, Love at home, Love at home, love at home,..."
She sang it over and over and over until I was done.

I guess somethings do get through to them!

FHE

OK so does anyone watch the PBS channel and see Super Why. That is my kids new favorite show after The Backyardagains. Anyways Rob and I decided that if they pay such good attention to that show why not try to make up our own Super Why FHE and the book that would have the answer is the Book of Mormon of course! We have done it twice now and at least Caleb really enjoys it and is getting something from it. Rob does a little Power Point thing on the computer so the "super letter" appear on the screen just like in the show. Caleb and Hailey say that it is magic. And I have fun super letter cards that they have to find around the house after they have done something right. It has been alot of fun to teach them the stories this way Who knows how often we will do it but now it is always something we can do.
Anyways so does anybody have a good idea for tonight?

FHE

Abraham & Isaac & Angel

So last night my family put on a little play for Family home evening.

Rob played Abraham (Cause he is the dad)

Caleb played Isaac (Cause he is the son)

Hailey was the Angel (Cause she is an angel)

(She looks pretty cute in Mom's bathrobe doesn't she?)

They did a very good job.

At first Caleb did not want to do anything but run around. He didn't even want to sit down for FHE but he eventually settled down.

Hailey did very good with mom's help and yelled STOP! NO, NO!!!

and Rob did very well leading the whole play.

Hopefully they will be able to remember something from the story.

I can't wait for the next one that they do for Chloe and me!

Proud WSU, & Families Forever

This is what you see when you enter the campus. It is a whole different atmosphere here then you would find at ISU.
That is all I can relate to though. But it seems like that whole city is built around the campus here. The WSU logo that you see in this picture is almost everywhere you look. On the signs, in the stores in the middle of cross sections streets. It is painted onto the ground. they are very proud of the scarlet and white colors.

Caleb keeps telling Rob that "It is the same as your hat daddy." And Rob of course is silly and replies with " I should have never shown them my hat, they stole my idea."
It is so fun to watch our little family become closer together. We love to be together. In FHE on Monday Caleb said "I love my family and I'm glad that we will together forever!" He had to ask and make sure that all our grandma's and grandpa's were going to be together forever too, we told him of course and we will be closer to them then we are now.
