funny boy

Edwin has been walking around with this little guy for the last couple of days. It's nose is usually inside his ear.
Maybe it makes his ear feel better?

IT HAS BEEN TWO WEEKS OF ICKY!

Two weeks of everyone in our house being sick. Just about everyone has been to the Dr. too!
Edwin and Chloe have ear infections and are both on Amoxicillin but, Chloe decided to do this yesterday morning.
She looks really bad in this photo, really she is just blinking. I promise she is bouncing off the walls.

She even has them inside her ears this morning.

Her tummy is way worse then this.
The ones on her legs just showed up this morning.

She has spots all over her little body. Today she is secretly itching them. So now she is on something different, plus both ears are infected now. Poor girl. She hates to miss pre-school too. I try not to remind her that she is missing school, it helps when Hailey is home and not feeling well cause then I don't have to pack everyone up to go get her. I don't think I would make it anyways. I feel pretty icky myself. Rob keeps saying I look like a "walking dead" Yep it is that bad.
Hopefully everyone gets better soon. Someone needs go out and make a big snowman in the yard with all this new snow!

want some?

I had two who wanted oatmeal this morning. I didn't have any instant packets so I thought " I can do this" and made a small batch in my microwave.

Lets just say after 59 seconds of the minute it didn't want to be cooked anymore and this is what happened.
Needless to say no one had oatmeal this morning and the microwave is still not cleaned up.

Was scared

So it has been just over a week since we had our ultrasound to tell us it is a girl. I can't believe how fast it has gone. What we didn't tell you was that we kinda had some iffy things that needed to be looked at again.

I was told that my amniotic fluid was on the low side, and that they could get a very clear picture of her nasal bone. so if you put those things together there was a possibility that I don't drink enough water, she could have bad kidneys, or she already has a UTI. And that she could be down-syndrome.

So off to Spokane to a specialist we went.
As you can see she is till just as precious as ever!

With the specialist looking at, we got a a special look our baby.
My first time getting a 3D ultrasound.
Isn't it fun!

It was fun to have a good look at Izabelle. she is perfect in every way. She has no problems that could be found. I can quit worrying!
I just need to drink more water.

We also had the chance to get to the temple.
It was a fantastic day!

Thanks to our great Friends that willingly took care of our kids, even when they were sick, and also sent us to the temple. I don't know how I can ever repay you for your kindness to our family.

XOXO

We often see the acronym XOXO at the end of a written letter, e-mail, or text message as a quick way to express love. Generally the "X" represents a kiss and the "O" represents a hug, but how did these letters come to mean these things?

The origin of the X comes from a Medieval tradition which allowed those who could not write to sign a document with an X. The signer would then place a kiss on the X as a seal of honesty or truth. Some also believe that the X stands as a symbol of the cross and Christ. The origin of the O is generally unknown, but it is thought to represent the shape of a person's arms as they embrace another person.

However, there is also much debate over which letter stands for which action. Some people believe that the X represents the way that the arms cross in a hug and that the O represents the shape of a mouth for a kiss.

Whichever meaning you choose for the XOXO symbol, the message is still the same, and it's as powerful as ever.

What's in a Name?

Have you really ever thought about your name? Is it a family name? Has been handed down from generation to generation? Or is it something that your parents kindly gave you to be different?

As you can guess we have been thinking about names around here.
In fact Caleb wanted to have a Family Home Evening talking about our names and where they came from, how we thought them up and why we have them.

My name is one that my Mom fell in love with. she knew it was going to be Suzanne, but for a long time never knew how it was going to be spelled. I have a piece of paper that when you red through it the spelling of my names changes about four times. I laugh ever time I read it.
My middle name, Elizabeth, comes from Mom's side of the family.

Rob's whole name is a family name. It is funny actually he was named after a Great-Great Grand father( I don't remember how name greats) But this guy is the one they say started the family curse of being poor and not making very much. I keep telling His parents we are goin to be the ones that break the curse. Anyways it is a good story I may have to actaully post it sometime.

Caleb loves his name. His comes from the Scriptures, the Old testiment in fact. We have read him the story about Caleb and he knows that he made a great choice and Our Caleb want to be like that Caleb and be a good person. As for his Middle name Calvin, well that is a family name. For those of you who don't already know this that is my Father's middle name. Caleb thinks it is so awesome to share a name with his Grandpa. (hopefully that is all they share, I don't think anybody wants to share the baldness. he he.)

Next is Hailey. Rob was the one that brought Hailey up. I just knew it was right. she doesn't share this name with anyone and she like s it that way. she love to sing-spell her name and loves that is is six letters long. Her middle name is the family name. We share that. Elizabeth. she says that because we share that name we are like twins. It is also fun because she has an Aunt Elizabeth and a cousin Emily Elizabeth. We are the four Elizabeth's I guess.
Ok Hailey has never met another Hailey spelled the same until this week in pre-school. there are now two Hailey's in her class.

Chloe. OK so when Rob and I watched Smallville we sorta fell in love with this name. I'm glad too cause it just is one of those names that really fit. Chloe loves her name and she loves her nickname of Coco. Chloe is very happy to share her middle name with Aunt Dusty. Michelle. she always tell us the Dusty and her like twins cause they have the same middle name.
When we were waiting for Chloe to arrive we never told anyone what her name would be and then when Dusty came to met the new baby that is when we told her that she was named after her. It was a big surprise for everyone.

With Edwin, I remember looking though family generation names online and then going to bed. I woke up in the night and thought to myself I love the name Edwin. I was sure I had read it and went back the next day to find it and I couldn't find it anywhere. so I don't know how it really came to me. Later I did find out there is an Edwin on the Owens side somewhere, so it is in fact a Family name. Edwin also shares Rob's middle name, William. William is a family name on both sides of our family that has been handed down form generation to generation.

Now it is time to start thinking about names again for this little baby. We find out on Thursday whether to start looking for a boy or girl name. We have sorta narrowed it down to these two names:
Boy~ Alfred
Girl~ Izabelle

So My big question for you.... what do you think?
and Yes, Izabel has to have a 'z' in it because then she can have one like me.
