squeeze my hand!

Last night as we were getting ready for bed Hailey and Caleb were playing with Hailey's new Care bear that sings songs when you squeeze it's hand. We asked them to put the toys away and then Caleb came up to us and said you need to squeeze my hand. I was thinking that he was pretending to be a robot and he needed to be turned on to finish cleaning up, I was surprised with him starting to sing, "I am a Child of God," but wait it gets better he get to the line "Has given me an earthly home, with parents kind and pare." Yes instead of Dear we are Pare. I'm not sure if he is trying to say prayer or what but Rob and I just laugh under our breath so that he want yell at us and say " It isn't funny!"
So next time you see him you should ask him if you can squeeze his hand to see what song he will sing for you!

Christmas Pics

Christmas at our House

This is the first year since Rob and I have been married that we have been just us and our kids for Christmas. We usually have the chance to see family and have a big dinner but not this year it was just us.
We did invite some friend over on Christmas Eve for the Traditional Burger dinner. It was nice to not have to do it alone in fact if they hadn't have come over we might not of done it at all.
Be fore the kids went to bed they got new PJ's to put on, they are very nice and i think they will fit in them for some time cause they are way too big for them right now. I was suprised that they were still on when they got up Christmas morning.
We had to wait Christmas morning for our kids to get up. they slept until about 10! I couldn't believe it!! What kid sleeps past 6 on a Christmas morning. My kids have a lot to learn....
when they did get up it was so much fum to watch them open their presents and be so excited. Caleb was so funny. He would rip off the paper and say "Wow! Santa got me a box!" I guess next year I won't have to fill the box with a gift I can just leave it empty and he will still be pleased.
Hailey was funny too. She mostly wanted to help Chloe open all her presents first and then get to hers but I finally got her talked into opening her own presents. When she opened a new pair of clothes she wanted to stop right then and put them on, her PJ's were so lose that it didn't take but a few seconds and they were off, so we did change her clothes.
Chloe was really good, for only being 7 mths old, at opening presents. It was very exciting for her to rip the paper and make all the noise with it that she could.
After we got all of that out of the way Rob went to work in the kitchen. He made my birthday cake. It was a chocolate cake filled with candybar ice cream. It was delicous! He did a really wonderful job! We had a great Merry Christmas and I had a great Birthday!!

Make you smile!

Santa Stop

Well were on our way to Lewisten on Tuesday and I saw this cute little Santa. I told Rob that we had to stop on our way back home so we could take a picture with the kids, us too of course.

Caleb thought it was way fun, Hailey was too cold and just wanted to stay in the car, while Chloe didn't really know what was going on except she wanted a new diaper. Anyways at least you can see a picture of the kids with Santa ( They have gotten to see him I just don't have pictures of them with a digital camera to send).

Merry Christmas!!
Oh and Caleb is counting down so today there is only 4 days left!

sick of sick kids

I guess if it is not one then it is another. At least they are kind enough to share with everyone in the house. No not share all the fun toys but share what ever sickness they get. Have you noticed how if one person is sick in your house then it most likely won't be too long before somebody else gets sick and the circle just keeps going and going. We came home with sick kids at Thanksgiving and we still have it in our house. Our little Chloe has had the "runs" for about two weeks now, she hasn't lost any weight but she is now starting to not eat hardly anything. We have taken her off of cereal and other foods and just trying to get her to have a bottle but she is only doing about 2 oz. out of the 6 that she used to have every 4 hours. She is also getting teeth so she is just a miserable little girl.
Oh and just in case you were wondering there is only 11 more days till Christmas!

Under the Tree!

Webfetti.com

While I was working on dinner the other night Rob walked into the front room to find this cute little bundle of fun under the tree.

Chloe thought she was so cute under there. I think she is too! She loves to scoot under the tree to pull on the branches or any of the lights that she can reach.

I'm sure glad that Rob thought about getting a picture of her before he got her out.

I don't want to be a naughty boy!!!!!

I have to share with you a conversation that Rob and Caleb had the other morning.

Caleb came in early in the morning and told us that it was morning and time to get up to have breakfast.

"What would you like?"

"Cereal" (sometimes my kids say cereal for cereal but more specifically for Cheerios)

"I think I want some eggs, do you want any of them?"

"Yeah! I like eggs Daddy!"

"Ok, you go get them started while I get up."

"Daddy, I can't do that. If I do that I will be a naughty boy!"

"Oh, that is right that would make you a naughty boy, I guess you had better what for me."

What a smarty pants! And what a joker I have. Rob and I laughed all morning.

snowy days are here

Webfetti.com

We are finally seeing snow!! In fact the snow really decided to start falling on Sunday afternoon. When we left church to come home we almost didn't make it. There was so much snow coming down that it was so hard to see and the roads were terrible to drive on, and we only live down and around the corner from the church, with all the hills though we almost didn't make it up to our apartment complex. These pictures are from right outside our back door.

Just after I took this picture that big branch in the tree fell.

A few hours after that the snow turned to rain and continued to rain till Monday night. In fact there was so much rain in some parts around here that there has been some pretty bad flooding. I'm glad that it's not flooding right here.

snow flakes

When we went home for Thankgiving my family gave my birthday present a month early.

I love it! They got me a Sizzix's machine, for those of you who don't know what that is a papercutter that uses die cuts to cut all sorts of shapes and letters it is a lot of fun for scrapbookers.

Hailey looking at all the shapes that have been cutout.

So last week we took looked at all the different diecuts that I had and we decided to make snowflakes with shapes that we cut. I thought it was a lot safer then to hand my kids a pair of scissors. With the machine they only have to pull down this levor and ta da we have a snow flake.

our snowflakes clockwise: Hailey's, mine, Rob's, Chloe's, and Caleb's. Aren't they cute!

It was a lot of fun! Thank you family for a great and fun gift!!!

6 facts/habits about me

The rules of the game should be posted at the beginning of the post. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Ok I'm doing this only for Cami. And since I don't really read 6 other blog pages if you read this and have not done it already then you have been tagged!!!

# 1 I hate creepy crawly little critters!! this one comes to mind only because we are dealing with a mouse in our apartment right now (again). They tell us that that is one of the "perks" to living on the bottom floor of the complex. Not fun for me.

#2 I like to take photos, not because people want me to do it but because I want to. I hope that makes sense. See if you really want me to do it I don't get the same thrill out of it if I were just going to do it for me. I like to take picture of all sorts of things, right now It is extra fun to get good pics of my kids. Caleb has started to make the silliest face though-- what a poser!

#3 I'm like Cami-- We don't listen to Christmas music til after Thanksgiving also. After having Rob work at JCPenney where they played Christmas Music non-stop and some of it was just dumb songs we can't stand to hear to much of it. Too much of it in this case can be a bad thing, makes it much worse when they are playing stupid songs. I do love the Christmas season though!!

#4 I hate doing laundry! Even more so now that I have to go over to the laundry room in the apartment complex and pay to do something that I don't even like to do!
I miss being able to do laundry when ever the heck I wanted to. Now I have to wait my turn and keep a timer with me so my clothes don't end up on the floor and get dirty all over again.
Does it ever end?

#5 I love talking on the phone-- to my mother! Even more now that I live father away from her then I ever have in my entire life! We have this thing where call each other everyday (almost) at the same time. Just to say good morning and see what we have planned for the day.
Love you Mom!!

#6 I hate when someone is chewing gum and starts to blow bubbles and they pop really loud! Rob has started to do that. He told me that it makes his gum taste better but he will try to stop for me. How sweet. He does it mostly when he is concentrated really hard on his homework, so I know when to watch out for him popping away.

These are the kids at different points of our Thanksgiving trip.
Chloe of course is sleeping. She gets tired out very easy when we are running around from one place to another.
Hailey took time for a Tea Party ( she had hot chocolate) with her cousin Myah while we were in Pocatello. She was also wearing her new princess crown and earings around everywhere we went and most of the trip home, Thanks Lieshmans- she absolutely loves it. (You should see Rob in it!)
Caleb was very happy to be outside for a few minutes "helping" Grandpa Owens cook on the grill in the fire outside -- so happy he was doing a "happy dance"

We had a wounderful trip but it is very nice to be home. I like my own bed and I would think the kids all like their own beds as well, They all slept through the night for the first time in a week.
The only bad thing I would say is that all of the kids came home with a cold and a cough not very fun.

our trip thus far.

We made it Boise on Thursday night. we were all very excited to finally get there! Mostly to just get out of the car. I think we spent 7 hours in the car. We stopped twice on the way, once for diaper duty and the second time for the policeman that pulled us over. And No! we were not speeding in fact we didn't even get a ticket. It was a courtesy stop. We only had one headlight. We had about 1 1/2 hours left to go and that was when Chloe had decided to start her nonstop crying for the trip. She cried until about 15 min. left of the trip. Poor girl!

Oh, and we did travel through snow so now the song "Over the river and through the woods" is really true for us, We had to go through the white and drifted snow.

We will be in Poc. on Tuesday evening most likely. See everybody later!

These pictures are the kids early one morning before Grandpa Owens had to go to bed. For those of you that don't know Grandpa works nights at Micron, so we got to see him early in the morning for a little bit and then right before he would leave in the evening.

first attempt!

Well this is my first attempt at making cheesecake. It's is really funny, I had been looking all week for a good recipe, I finally found one that didn't sound too hard and then half way through mixing I noticed I was doing the wrong one!!! So I switched recipes in the middle. Crazy!! But you know what-- it was a success. And It cracked down the middle just like the recipe says it is supposed to do. so now I have agood recipe and I'll try it again with out switching in hte middle we will see what tastes the best. I would like to try a pumpkin cheescake for Thankgiving.
Speaking of Thanksgiving we are all getting very excited to come home. I keep thinging of that song, "Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother's house we go."
we really will be going over the river and through the wood, I just hope that there is no White and drifted snow anywhere. I'm just not ready for that on these roads, they are bad enough as it is. Cam't wait to see everybody in a week!!!

Pair of new shoes

This is a picture of what Chloe's new shoes look like. One of the weird things is that all the buckels are on the inside instead of the outside. We all like them a lot more then the other one. It will make dressing a lot nicer, you see the bar that keep her feet apart actually comes off so that when the time comes (in a month) for her to have a break from being in the brace we can just take that bar off and let her have her break. The put it back on for her naps and while she is asleep at night. (that is when she will were it starting the week before Christmas, only when she is asleep pretty much about 12 hours a day.)
This is also her new little outfit, we all think she is really cute in it and she looks so cute in her hat. It make her little face extra round and chubby, too cute!!!
(Oops for got to flip before I uploaded ,sorry!)
She hasn't even tried to take it off yet, in fact she gets alittle upset when we do take it off.

Trip to Spokane

We went to Spokane today. Chloe got her new pair of shoes (new brace). And I just wanted to show you some of the sites that we see as we are traveling.

Ok so some of these aren't going to be the greastest becuase my window is in the way but it was too cold to roll it down.
Chloe in a new outfit. She is a happy girl.
Caleb says the trees are holding those clouds up.
and this is not a church it is a castle.
Chloe's hospital.
I think this bridge is cool looking.

Funny Sayings

We have had a few funny things said around our house this week.
Caleb keep biting his cheek "I chewed myself!" or "I tired to eat myself!"
Don't worry if you ask him how he tastes he replies, "Not good."
When we have to get upset with him and tell him that he has been knotty, he gets upset with us and tell us, "But, you two were the chosen ones!" (obviously he has been watching/ playing too much Star Wars) Rob and I just try not to laugh.
Hailey loves to sing.
At church she love to hold the book and sing as loud as anybody.
You may not be able to guess what song it is be the tune that she has going but with the words she says it won't be to hard,
"Each me, Lead me, Walk me." Any guesses?
Hailey is still trying to get every body's names right and so it is very cute when she talks.
She says Caleb's name alot but it sound more like k-bub.
Chloe's name =Coey.
She loves to meow like a kitty, though she has only seen them in books and on TV.
She also love to ask for Icem (Ice cream).
And then there is Chloe well,
she doesn't say any words but she is really vocal about things. And when she wants your attention she really knows how to yell for you. Wow! And then if you don't give her attention right then she will really start to scream,
that is when her brother and sister run to her side.
Aren't children wonderful!
Isn't it great how they can always change your mood when you really need it?
I just love my kids!!!

Happy Birthday Caleb!!

Webfetti.com
Well today was Caleb's birthday he is now four and after a day of trying to get a cake figured out for him we finally decided on a pattern that we made work for us and then Caleb informed us of what color it would be when we finally got to the time of frosting the color had changed from green to yellow to pink, yes pink, to blue. We went with blue before he could change colors again. He has a crocodile for a birthday cake, in case you couldn't tell.He got to color the frosting all by himself.

I think it ended up very cute.

He was very excited to be able to open presents from everyone cause he has been able to see the packages for a week since they came just in time for Hailey's birthday. He got to open Grandma and Grandpa's this morning so he had new Birthday clothes to wear all day. He looked so nice. He also got special Pirate Bubble Bath so all three kids took a nice bath before bed.

Chloe loved to be in the bath with the other to kids, she didn't scream at all this time.(Baths are still a new thing for her since she has not really been able to take a real one since she has had a cast on since birth, she is still getting used to them.)

Our Happy Halloween!

Here are Caleb and Hailey all dressed up sitting in the back of the van right before our "Trunk or Treating" started. They had lots of fun and so did we. Hailey obviously had one thing on her mind as you can tell from the picture she is trying to get candy already. If you can't tell Hailey is a little white bunny. she has on a ear warmer in hope that the headband would stay on her head better but it still kept falling off. Caleb is all dressed in camouflage so I'm not really sure if he is someone like "Rambo" or just an army man- like uncle Derek, either way he is very happy with his costume and he can wear it any time he wants. (Thanks to my neighbors who gave us the hand-me-down clothes just in time for Halloween. Mom had to some adjustments but they fit pretty good now.) Anyways we had lots of fun!

Pumpkin and party

On Saturday we had a fairly busy day!

In the morning we went and carved pumpkins. Our apartment complex brought in the pumpkins and all the carving things that we would need and of course treats for all of that were doing so much work, cookies and hot chocolate and hot cider mmm it was great. Caleb wanted a scary face so Daddy had to find one and Caleb helped poke the face onto the pumpkin. It is so scary in fact Hailey doesn't like it unless there is a light on somewhere while we have it lit.

They had a lot of fun digging out all the gunk , mostly dad did all the work while I watched and took care of the kids.

We also had a little party for Hailey, I know it was a few days late but still we were waiting for all those wonderful packages to get here, Thanks everyone for all your love! Hailey loves all the gifts and so does Caleb and he hasn't gotten to open his presents yet but Hailey's will do until he does.

We made Hailey's cake while the kids were all down for a nap. If you can't tell from the picture it is a butterfly. I think that we did a pretty good job! It probably would have been very funny to watch Rob and me while we were working on it. We actually cut up a piece of paper to make sure we were going to cut the cake the right way. Mostly Rob did the decorating and then when Hailey got up form her nap she got to do some sprinkles.
when she blew her candles out she was very funny too. ( I tried to post a little video but I can't get it to work--sorry) She blew the first one out and then got really sad and needed some coaxing to get the other one out. After they were out and the light came back on she was just fine and couldn't wait for her piece of cake with a little bit of ice cream.

Well Chloe is going to get new shoes! After going to Shriner's on Thursday we discovered that our little Chloe love to wiggle too much and she has discovered how to wiggle just enough to move her foot and that is how she gets blister. They are going to get a new style of shoe for her to wear. They look more like a Birkenstock style shoe and instead of white they will be kinda brownish gray,I know not a very girl shoe but hey at least it will help with the blisters.
We get them in about two weeks. that is how long it takes for them to be made and sent to the hospital.
Also can you believe this the brace she has right now costs about $350.
The one that she is going to be getting costs around $735.

Isn't that amazing! I just can't believe they can be so much! Wow!

Chloe's Trick!

Since it is Halloween Chloe is not getting any treats but she defiantly doing some tricks.

I know it is not that silly that baby's like to check out their toes but Chloe love to check out this bar between her feet. She loves to lift it up and suck on it.

We have to be careful when she gets excited though because she does hit herself right on the head every once in a while.

Tomorrow we are taking her to Shriner's for another appiontment. We are finally going to get her toe checked out. It is still black looking and hopefully they will be able to tell us what to do to get it better.

Golfing??!!??

Ok don't get to excited.

Rob has obviously shown Caleb too much golf.

Rob wants to go so bad that he will pretend to golf and do an air swing in the house. Guess who watches him? Caleb put his own little tee together today. As you can see it is a little ball sitting on top of an empty toilet paper roll. He is hitting the ball with a little toy.

I jut don't know where he gets it.....

The empty toilet paper roll has also been an arm this week. He pulls it up his arm and he becomes Trap-Jaw from He-Man. So now he want to be Trap-Jaw for Halloween and not Skeletor at least we are still in the same show and he is still a bad guy right. I really don't know what he will be we just don't have any custom ideas for him, I need something simple and cheap, something that I can make myself.

Maybe I'll wrap him in tin foil and he can go as left overs.

FHE

Abraham & Isaac & Angel

So last night my family put on a little play for Family home evening.

Rob played Abraham (Cause he is the dad)

Caleb played Isaac (Cause he is the son)

Hailey was the Angel (Cause she is an angel)

(She looks pretty cute in Mom's bathrobe doesn't she?)

They did a very good job.

At first Caleb did not want to do anything but run around. He didn't even want to sit down for FHE but he eventually settled down.

Hailey did very good with mom's help and yelled STOP! NO, NO!!!

and Rob did very well leading the whole play.

Hopefully they will be able to remember something from the story.

I can't wait for the next one that they do for Chloe and me!

Up All Night!

Ok so last night was completely a waist of time for Rob and Hailey and me. I don't know why but after we got all the kids to bed last night rob and I went to lay down and we could night sleep After a few hours of just talking and catching up (which was nice to do but the timing wasn't great) Rob decided to go do some homework to try to get ahead in class. I stayed in bed hoping that I would just fall asleep. Then Hailey woke up and she didn't want to go back to sleep for a couple of hours too.
It was crazy I think we finally did get some sleep but were woken up by Caleb who came in to us to ask if he could turn the TV on to watch his cartoon that he likes in the morning.
Then it was time to have the car taken for an oil change, I had set up an appointment to have it done at 8:00 this morning.
Needless to say we have been very tired all day. I have hardly had enough energy to keep up with the kids today. Hope tonight is better and we have more fun tomorrow.

Rob took Caleb and Chloe shopping to the dollar store tonight. they picked out some birthday presents for Hailey. She was very sad when she didn't get to go with them and she had to stay home with mom. I'm sure she will be happy with what ever they got her though, every once in a while we will mention that she is going to have a birthday and she will be 2. she says "Hailey 2" and also "Caleb 4" .
I can't believe my kids are getting so big!

Blisters

I know that it looks pretty bad but I think that we are on the healing side. That is poor little Chloe's toe after two week of having the brace on. She has three blisters two of them on her little toe and one on her heel. Poor little girl!
It is too bad that her foot doesn't even get that much of a break from her shoes. Can't even switch shoes that's what I would do if it was me but she just has to wear what she has.

I try and get all the dead skin off and Rob just yells at me "Don't Touch it!" but you know when the skin gets all hard from it being aired out so I just get the hard skin off and then there is less of a chance off her ripping it off. Then of course we put a band-aid on it when we have to put her shoes back on.

Yesterday when I had to put her shoes back on she wasn't very happy at all and was pretty crabby all day, she even woke up in the night. I know she is not happy when that happens.

Eeeck!! A Mouse!!

Ok, If you have a weak stomach you may not want to look at the picture !

As we finished dinner last night I was sitting on the couch feeding Chloe. I looked over at the table and was noticing how messy the floor was under the seats where the kids were. We had crumb all over so I was thinking to myself wow I have some cleaning to do don't I?
Then it happened, what happened? you may ask well let me tell you I saw something scurry around the floor, Something was getting alittle dinner, and I actually almost screamed but I was on the phone with my sister so I thought I had better not scream in her ear but I did gasp quite loudly you could ask her and she would tell you.
After I got off the phone I called our Apartment Coordinator (AC's) and let them know I saw a mouse and they brought over a trap. It took Rob and I few minutes to get the trap to work even following the directions. ( they brought two, thank goodness, One worked and the other would not.) anyways by the time we were ready to go to bed we heard the SNAP! and we had caught ourselves this little rodent. YUCK!
I HATE MICE!!!
I'm hoping that we don't have anymore but we are on the bottom floor and I hear that we people on the bottom get them more then others around here so I guess that we will just see what will happen. The winter hasn't even really started yet, Oh what fun we have in store.

In a Box!

For the last week Caleb has been playing with a box. well he kept asking if he could sleep in it and last night he finally did. but I ended up moving him before too long and when he woke up this morning he told me,

"I was sleeping in my box and I disappeared to my bed!"

I think he thought it was pretty cool.
Then little Hailey just sleeps all spread out and really very comfortable.

Chloe on the other hand is getting used to her brace but it is taking some time. She is staying asleep longer, so mom is getting more sleep.
Her toe on her other foot doesn't like the brace and is revolting by turning purple, rob says it looks like it is going to fall off, but I don't think that it that bad.

It does however look pretty ugly!
