Chloe update!

We got a telephone call this morning form a nurse who works at Shriner's, She wanted to know a little bit more about Chloe and how long she had been wearing her cast I told her it had been three weeks and she has an appointment to get a new one on Monday morning, but I really did not want to go back to that doctor. I've never been really that picky about doctors cause I've always just had the same one and he always just knew who to have me talk to and be referred to- some of you know what I mean-- some of you have that same doctor. Anyways the one here that I really didn't want to go back to did not make a good impression on me or on
Rob and that is really saying something. so The nurse said I'll call you back in a few minutes.
Well we got a call back in less then a few minutes and we had an appointment this afternoon if we could make and of course when it comes to our kids we dropped everything and went.
I had enough time to take my shower and just hop in the car and go-- (I didn't even have breakfast, maybe that is why I'm still hungry-- I should definitely do something about that.)
Needless to say the people at Shriner's are absolutely wonderful. They were so nice to our whole family. Not only did they have fun toys for Caleb and Hailey to play with but the let our family go back to a special little room and gave us some snacks and let the kids watch a movie. What service!
After talking to my Mom and having more time to think about it I really feel like our Heavenly Father knew that this would be the best place for us to be right now. Not only for Rob to go to school but mostly for our little Chloe to be taken care of. He knew way before us that our little one was going to need some special help. and everything just seems to fall into place when it's right!
We will have this cast on for week go back on Friday get a new one for another week and then we will be scheduled for a surgery, she will then wear a cast for three weeks and have a special brace to wear for a while. We actually get measured for the brace next week when we go.
We are very happy!

Baby Chloe

Our baby Chloe at birth. This Chloe in her first bath.
She is 3 months old and already has been to the doctor more then Rob and I combined, why? Well she has a club foot you see. It is actually called talipes equinovarus if we get technical.
Here are the different stages from the first to the last cast.
So not only does she go to a doctor for regular check-ups but she has had another doctor just for her foot at least every two week. Now that we have moved there are no orthopedic doctors that take children they refer them all to the Shiners Hospital in Spokane. So it has been a couple of weeks sent we sent in our application for them to be able to treat Chloe. And this morning we called them to see what the status was, well I guess they are going to be sending us some more info. This afternoon, though, I got a telephone call from them to schedule an appointment. The soonest we can get in is Wednesday Sept. 12th at 11:30. So that would mean we have to leave our house at about 9 a.m. So Rob gets to skip class that day and work too.
We will let everyone know how this goes.
I’m extremely glad that Rob will be able to drive
I’m just not ready to drive that far by myself yet.
She has really been showing off for us lately. Not only has she been talking like crazy but she has been rolling over a lot. We have been letting her lay on the floor for after she has been fed so that she can play with Caleb and Hailey so at first I thought that maybe one of them was helping her roll over but nope it’s all her. We got her out of bed one morning to find her laying on her belly. When she is on the floor and no one will come to get her she fusses for a little bit and then rolls to her belly and falls asleep.

How cute!

She also likes everyone to know that she is defiantly mine-she burps as loud as me!

Sometimes even louder!

driving here to there and back

Well, today I had to do something that I didn't want to, but was just fine in doing. I had to travel to Colfax about 25 min away from Pullman. The three kids and I had to go to an office there and hand in some paperwork. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. In fact I was done and back within an hour and a half. pretty good huh? While we we sitting in the parking lot waiting to come back home we saw three deer. Caleb pointed them out to Hailey and me while I was opening the sliding door for them to get a better look. I tried to get a picture to show you but as you can see there is not one. The deer moved so the pic were no good. Chloe was really and sleep almost the entire time. And then she started talking towards the end-Wow-she is a little chatterbox, when she wants to be.
Rob officially started school yesterday he has three classes one day each from 2:50 -5:30, then he just works the rest of the time. we had to buy a couple of book and then for the class he had today the professor brings in articles for them to read- there are alot!
We found the golf course for WSU it undergoing some makeovers. it is originally a 9 hole course and they are turning it into a 18 hole course so we had to go up and check it out. Rob of course is very excited to get the student discount. We also got a coupon for Uof I's course for two people and a cart for only $50- and I guess that is pretty good but I don't really know when it comes to golf, but Rob is excited anyways.
This is a picture of one the new holes they are working on the the new part of the golf course. You can't really tell from the picture, but all of this will be the new GC here on campus. And it's right by our apartment.

Lentils on the Palouse

We took advantage of the opportunity to celebrate an under appreciated legume. The lentil may not be as exotic as a peanut, as aesthetically pleasing as a snow pea, or as burly as a pinto bean, but it consistently and economically satisfies hunger and can warm the soul like an old friend... I especially liked the chili.
Tonight was the start of the Lentil festival here in Pullman. For those of you that don't know the Palouse area is one of the nations largest grower of lentils. So as you can see they make a very big pot of Lentil Chili to share with the whole community.

It was actually pretty tasty-although a little too spicy for the kids' taste so they sat and ate snacks out of the diaper bag. Tomorrow morning they are serving Lentil Pancakes, I don't know if we will be getting up early enough for that. Although, it might be interesting to try.

Caleb got to dress up as a fireman. He is so cute! I thought it was very neat that they had a size for the little kids to try on.

Of course Hailey just went to the library and climbed in the play truck they have there.

Our little Chloe is quite the little chatterbox now that she has hit her 3 month age. It is hard to get a word in when trying to talk to to her. Even right now when she is supposed to be going to bed she is just babbling away in her bed. Her little smile is getting cuter every day as you can see.

Every time I look at this one it makes me laugh.

Proud WSU, & Families Forever

This is what you see when you enter the campus. It is a whole different atmosphere here then you would find at ISU.
That is all I can relate to though. But it seems like that whole city is built around the campus here. The WSU logo that you see in this picture is almost everywhere you look. On the signs, in the stores in the middle of cross sections streets. It is painted onto the ground. they are very proud of the scarlet and white colors.

Caleb keeps telling Rob that "It is the same as your hat daddy." And Rob of course is silly and replies with " I should have never shown them my hat, they stole my idea."
It is so fun to watch our little family become closer together. We love to be together. In FHE on Monday Caleb said "I love my family and I'm glad that we will together forever!" He had to ask and make sure that all our grandma's and grandpa's were going to be together forever too, we told him of course and we will be closer to them then we are now.

Library Man

Here are some pictures of our new favorite statue on campus. It is right outside the Main library here. We have Three right next to each other. Some of you have already seen this but I thought I would make it so everyone can look. This is entirely made from books. Up close you can see all the different titles and all that pages. It is really cool.

Caleb says his name is Morgan (Only Dusty really knows why--maybe :) )

We have only walked down to see him twice but Caleb will tell you it is Morgan the book man.

I also thought Becky would think that this really neat. You should have one at your Library.

Here is close up of the face on him. I just think someone was very creative to make this.

sitting on top of the World ( Or dad's shoulders)

well, for those of you that I've talked to I'm glad that things are going well for you too, for everyone else I hope life is treating you well.

As you can see Caleb wanted to be like Hailey and ride on Rob's shoulders-- they both think it is the greatest thing ever. Sitting on top of the world, they do think the world of their dad.

Well, we made it to the right ward today it was very nice. You see last week we went to what we thought was the right one but they just changed their time so instead of meeting at 1:00 they now meet at 9:00. It is going to be a lot nicer for not only the kids but us too. We won't be fighting them to be quite during the meeting and when we get home they can take a nap.

We have even made some friends at least we think we might have. we stood out by our cars a talked for a few minutes about the things that are going on around in the ward this week and what are family's are doing here in Pullman, Of course everyone here is just going to school.

We went for our walk yesterday, I have decided that as a family we have to go on a walk around the campus until we or I have learned my way around. It has been very helpful and the kids like to get out of the house. Anyways they have these columns outside of the coliseum and we thought they were pretty neat. Thought I'd let you see them. We have to walk to a different part of campus every time.

Getting Around

Well, here we are in new place. somedays are better then others and some days we just want to forget.
For those of you who know me you'll reallize it is hard for me to get out on my own and try to find things/ place to go. I would much rather sit shootgun and read the map to Rob while he drives. I can make the plans but I just don't like to drive-not until I really feel like I know thae city.
I Have driven once since we got here, and just down the main road into Moscow to Walmart & Winco and then back again.
The Campus is really beautful here. You would not believe all of the hills and trees that are all around. They say that you can pick out all the new freshmen (or in our case the new Grad Students) because they don't have Cougar Calfs yet. We are slowly getting them though. We as a family try to to go on a walk to center campus at least once a week. The kids like to go and their enthusiasm only last for the first hill and then it is a fight to see who gets to ride and who has to walk. We have been able to cope pretty good, if Caleb rides then Rob or I can put Hailey on our Shoulders-- she loves that.
