We wanted to watch the Eclipse so bad. First we made plans to go to Rexburg and visit my Grandma and campout in her yard. Then everything changed last Sunday when we all really felt that we should not travel. Everyone was disappointed. I figured we would just go out and stand in the driveway and watch it as it came by.
then on Saturday we had a friend tell us that we could tag along to their cabin in Idaho city. It was right on the line. We jumped at the chance, after a good family meeting, and left after church on Sunday to go up at to the cabin.
there was no traffic, there were not a lot of people and it was perfect.
We camped out in the main room of the cabin. (they are in the middle of a complete tear down and rebuild.)
The floor was hard but everyone slept.
In the morning we packed everything up and ate breakfast then we played games and waited for the Eclipse to start.
The Eclipse was amazing!
I didn't realize how amazing it would really be.
We saw shadow bands, Bailey's beads, Mars or Venus I don't really know which, 360 degree sunset, and the Sun's Corona. I wish I could have gotten a picture of what we saw.
On our way home we stopped at an Ice Cream shoppe. They Eclipsed your cone for free. (Dipped it in chocolate). the kids had a blast.
